About us
Flora Fund is a donor advised fund, part of Master Charitable Trust, based in London, United Kingdom. We support registered nonprofit organizations active in Italy, Europe, and the United Kingdom through multi-year grants and capacity building.
What we do
We focus on individual, families and community choices of energy transition and CO2-reducing behaviors: ways to reduce electricity and gas bills for communities, ways to increase its wellbeing. Schools/hospitals/companies meals rich in fruit/vegetable/pulse/beans; a smarter, better insulated building to work or study or live in; access to renewable sources of electricity; tree shading in towns to reduce heat and need of air conditioning; ways to reduce waste and its associated costs. We support organizations on the ground that act to do just that.
We are neither pro or against migration. We think migration naturally happens for anyone in the animal (and even plant) kingdom, in search of better living conditions. Given the nature of the phenomenon, our view is that people need to be able to work as soon as possible, to contribute to the economy of the country they have moved, to learn local ways of living, to avoid friction in society and integrate as proud, productive members of society. Our focus is to support organizations who help connecting jobs to people, and facilitate all the key ancillary factors (language, transport, housing.)
Journalism & Storytelling
We believe that a democratic society thrives on the quality of its conversations: on the ability to listen to different voices, to investigate what remains hidden, and to build dialogue even where disagreements exist. For this reason we invest in investigative journalism and in spaces where dissent can become dialogue.
